Chapter I

Spiritual Journey in IndiaCarrying the Baton across India’s sacred centres

Beginning at Shirdi on 15 October 2024, the pilgrimage carried Sai Baba’s message to Arunachalam, the Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata, Amma’s Amritapuri Ashram and the Himalayan town of Shimla.

On 15 October 2024, in the sacred land of Shirdi, Sai Sarvdharm Sambhav Divas was launched — a movement dedicated to Sai Baba’s teaching that humanity is one family. More than a thousand devotees and five hundred guests gathered as the Baton of Peace & Unity was lit: a living symbol of Shraddha, Saburi, peace, harmony and service.

Seven para-athletes walked with the flame, embodying courage beyond limitation. Stakeholders of the Shirdi Sai Baba community entrusted Aushim Khetarpal with furthering Sai Prachar worldwide — and from that day the Baton began its journey across continents, laying the foundation for the Sai Baba Peace Awards.

Faith unites. Humanity connects. Peace prevails.

One Torch. One World. One Humanity.India–Malaysia, united through faith and friendship

  • 500+ devotees gathered in Tapah
  • Graced by H.E. Hitesh Rajpal, Deputy High Commissioner of India to Malaysia
  • Dato Sivakumar Nadaraja, President of MAHIMA – Malaysia Council of Hindu Temples and Hindu Organisations
  • Invited by Datuk SP Kannan (Kannan Baba) & the South Malaysian Sai Baba organisation

When the light of Sai Baba travels across borders, it carries a message that transcends religions, languages and nations — the message of peace, love and humanity. In Tapah, more than 500 devotees gathered to witness the Sai Baba Peace Torch Ceremony, organised under the aegis of the Shirdi Sai Baba Peace Foundation — a memorable expression of India–Malaysia friendship and spiritual solidarity.

Led by Aushim Khetarpal, Head of the Shirdi Sai Baba Peace Foundation, the chapter brought together diplomatic representation, Malaysian Hindu leadership and devotees. As the torch entered the gathering, devotees came forward to touch and hold it, while others stood with folded hands in prayer — the flame becoming a bridge connecting hearts across cultures and communities.

Aushimji reiterated the Foundation’s universal message: peace does not belong to any one religion, community or nation — it belongs to everyone. Whether Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Parsi or of any other faith, every individual shares the same identity: that of being human. Sabka Malik Ek.

Following Malaysia, the Peace Torch continues its international journey towards The Hague, Baba Mundi, the Vatican and South Africa, before returning to India for the planned culmination of the initiative.
